The gîte is part of a typical Percheron ensemble that has been completely renovated over the last 20 years, including a farmhouse with its adjoining rooms, inhabited by the owners, and a seigniorial dwelling dating from 1597/1598, of which only a few ruins remain, and a turret with traditional framework. The property is set in 8,000m2 of grounds, with two ponds offering exceptional, fiercely protected biodiversity, an orchard, a vegetable patch and even an apiary! The Gite d'Hommeray has been awarded the "Valeurs Parc" label for its efforts to conserve biodiversity, its reconstruction using original materials and traditional methods, its replanting of hedgerows with local species and, more generally, its conservation of resources, particularly water. In the pure spirit of this environmental approach, the gite is exclusively equipped with dry toilets. Without sacrificing modern comforts!
